What is Fitness?

Fitness means having the physical and mental ability to perform daily tasks with strength, energy, and efficiency.
It includes:

✔ Cardiovascular fitness
✔ Muscular strength
✔ Muscular endurance
✔ Flexibility
✔ Body composition (fat vs muscle)
✔ Mental wellness

Components of Fitness

  • Cardiovascular Fitness – Your heart & lungs’ ability to supply oxygen.
  • Strength Training – Building muscle & strength through resistance.
  • Flexibility – Your muscle’s ability to stretch
  • Muscular Endurance – How long your muscles can perform without fatigue.
  • Body Composition – The % of fat, muscle, bone, and water in your body.

Types of Fitness Training

  1. Strength Training: Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Bodybuilding, Calisthenics (bodyweight)
  2. Cardio Training: Steady state (walking, treadmill), HIIT, LISS (low intensity steady state)
  3. Functional Training: Kettlebells, CrossFit, Mobility
    Improves daily life movement.
  4. Flexibility & Mobility Training: Yoga, Stretching, Pilates
  5. Sports Training: Boxing, Football, Basketball, Swimming, Tennis, Running.
